When GOD is Silent (Blog)
During a mission trip, I was part of a team that worked tirelessly to help a village. We spent hours evangelizing, ministering and praying for people, hoping to bring about a positive change in their lives.

Break Free (Blog)
Manna for Today
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.

“Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone.”
During the Christmas season, I received a text message from a woman who was struggling to survive on the streets. She was drenched by the rain and had no shelter, and all she asked for was a tent to protect her from the elements.

Love Your Enemy (Blog)
Manna for Today
But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. (Matthew 5:44)

Thanksgiving Potluck
Ministry Update
Our Thanksgiving dinner was absolutely amazing. We've opted for a potluck-style dinner this year. Much to our surprise, everyone contributed a dish to share with the rest of the community.

Manna for Today (Blog)
I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4
When you're scared and your enemies are relentless, what do you do? Fear overcame King David when he was surrounded by his enemies, but he discovered a remarkably uncomplicated remedy. He looked for the Lord, and the Lord freed him from all his fears.
Rather than spending energy on escape plans, it's more beneficial to invest in pursuing Christ.
In one of his previous statements, David boldly
Audio Bibles (Ministry Update)
“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17
At Dinner Church, we emphasize two values:
#1: We are not a soup kitchen.
#2: We take Bible studies seriously.
As we started to do our Bible studies, we decided that it is best to take a book from the Bible and study it, verse by verse. We have a very diverse study group, ranging from people who have a good understanding of the Bible to those who have only…
Hurt by the Church (Ministry Update)
Time and time again, we meet people that previously attended church, but got hurt there and left, only to never again re-connect.
We want Dinner Church to be a place of refuge and restoration, which is why this season we are focusing on formerly church-attending…
Serve Day
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Galatians 6:10
How do you efficiently reach a community? You serve them. In the past, I have organized outreaches where we served homeless people, but only a few benefited from our work. We have also done children outreach where we served the kids in our community, but usually only twenty or so would benefit from our service. It was on my heart to do something different.
Street Evangelism
This February, we went into Salisbury, a neighboring city of Spencer, N.C. where most of our community outreach activities are based. The main goal of this outreach was to remind people about our Savior Jesus Christ, pray for the sick and hurting, and invite them to Dinner Church that we host on Thursdays.
As we gathered near the main square for prayer, we realized that there were not enough people for us to minister to. We decided to split up into pairs and minister to people from door to door.
Overview
One of my biggest fears is that no one will show up to the Dinner Church. One day around November, we got the food ready and set up the chairs, and the parking lot was empty. This was a terrifying moment, but I did not lose heart. My kids ran up to me and said, "Dad, what are we going to do? Are we going to pack up and head home?" Instead of putting everything away and calling it a night, I told my kids and wife that we will still have dinner together. We ate, and I talked about the Bible lesson that I had prepared for that night.
